The studio on tuesday was very chaotic. Everyone had there mannequins and were working with there paper. Very quickly people had there main shape and body constructed. However I was struggling. By lunch time, mostly everyone in the class were pleased with there progress and were ready for a good earned break. I was not content with what I achieved that morning at all. I found it so difficult to achieve the shape of the skirt that I had designed. The shape I had created was nothing like my drawing. I got so frustrated with myself which put even more pressure on me. Chris and Sam however managed to calm me down and give me advice on what I should do. Abi also came over and held my pins. They really helped me to relax and get focused again.
With trial and error I started to realise and see how I could create the shape. I managed to construct the outline shape quite quickly and then it was all about adding detail and editing some parts out. I made changes such as shorting the straps and making them thinner.
Creating the lace detail at the front and also the back took FOREVER!! I managed to get it complete before I was kicked out of the studio by the security guard!!
It was a long day but successful. It started off bad but gradually got so much better. I'm still not completely finished or happy with my dress. I'll be refining and completeing my final four drawings in the next two days, so I'll fit in time for my dress between then.
