I was in a real nervous panic this morning. The review I feel went well. I learnt alot from other presentations and my own personal feedback. I feel my drawings were unique to me. Both students and tutors found the hairstyle of my models quite amusing. I defined it 'as a stack of profiteroles!'
The tutors asked me wether I missed colour in this project. This helped me realise how much I loved working with just black and white. I feel I see the shape more clearly and it also simplifies my designs. I also realised how much I enjoyed working with paper. I found out so many possibilities and ways of using paper. For example cutting into paper makes its more flexible making it more like fabric.
Shonagh mentioned how I seem to focus very much on the waist in my designs. I am always drawn to a very high waisted design. This led me to think about other beautiful silhouettes which I haven't really explored such as the drop waist, flapper design. This project got me so excited but very stressed over. I wanted to do as well as I can and achieve something I would be proud off. I am happy with my final polished design but if I had a bit longer I would have changed it slightly. I would have made the skirt a bit longer cause you could see the bottom of the mannequin when you walked a far from it. I created like an underskirt to hide this as it did bother me a lot.
