1st Dec 2011- Colour and Excitment

Working with my swirl rose 3D forms, I produced observational and tonal drawings. I feel I captured the beautiful form and folds in the paper. I completed a drawing which captured the three swirls that fitted together. This drawing lead me to focus and draw an even closer observation of inside the rose swirl and it ended up quite abstract. I worked with mono-printing to try and create colour into the pieces. I introduced vibrant reds, pinks and purples. I took the interesting shapes from my mono prints and worked them into a stencil which I used to mono print with. I began to layer all my pieces together. I am quite pleased with the overall look of my layered abstract rose.
