Today, I spoke to Chloe (textile tutor). She seemed impressed and enthused by my work and could recognise how my 3D forms and drawings have evolved and grown. She encouraged and advised me to now move away from the rose like shape design and told me not to think about what the result and shape I will finish with. She also advised that maybe my 3D forms could become even more 3D dimensional as most of my forms are quite flat. From my last piece of work I began to concentrate on the straight criss- crossed pattern. I completed a dot drawing that took the form of triangles. Chloe mentioned how I could use the light box to discover the negative space and shadow of 3D forms. This is something I want to try and explore. I really like how my project is evolving and changing. I like the fact that it becomes a new journey were you take different paths and discover new shapes and patterns. The idea of not knowing what the result will be enthuses and motivates me.
Its strange how my opinion for this project has changed quite drastically. At the beginning I was so confused and a bit alarmed at the challenge put in front of me. I now have gained confidence and I know what i'm doing. I can't wait to carry on where I left off and create new forms. I bought some pastels and coloured paper that will hopefully provide opportunities for new fresh and exciting things to come.
