6th Dec 2011 - Welcome Aqua

To help me decide what new bright colour, I worked with black and white. I used a photograph I took at Botanic gardens which illustrated black and white panels of glass on the roof. I folded it into a spiral-like structure for my 3D form. I completed a tonal study as well as a line drawing with white pen on top of black paper.

These studies provided scope for me to create a fringe-like effect with aqua-green tissue paper and tracing paper. I got excited at the fact I liked the new colour. I decided to embrace the piece with beads and dot shapes inspired and taken from my photograph. I feel this adds interest to my analysis of the structure of lines and shapes that I had captured in my photographs. I like the effect the fringed paper had and so I want to continue using this technique.
